REMODEL NOW? YES! YES! AND YES!

Some homeowners who might have wanted to sell before the housing market downturn are undoubtedly considering remodeling and staying in their present homes. It always hurts my heart when a client tells me that they have remodeled to sell–for goodness sake, remodel now and enjoy the newness yourself. Eat the cherry off the top! Have at that spa bathroom and chef’s kitchen for a few years before you sell your home!
Think about these items as the advantages of remodeling now:
- YOU get to enjoy the new stuff–hopefully for a few years.
- As we experience a real estate recovery, your home will be more appealing–newer and fresher if you do decide to sell.
- Contractors are looking for work right now and the cost of the remodel is going to be less than it will be in a market that is moving rapidly with lots of people looking for contractors.
- If you spend less on your redo, you will have to borrow less if you use a home equity line of credit.
